"Typa Girl” BLACKPINK Surprises Fans With The Lirics

While BLACKPINK is one of the top girl groups in the K-Pop industry for many good reasons, they have had some criticism in the past for the lyrics in some of their songs for various reasons.

Of course, the members themselves don't usually include too many lyrics in their songs, so it's their songwriters and producers that tend to be criticized in this situation.

And recently, the B-side track “Typa Girl” out of their new song Born Pink album has had some fans talking about whether the song's lyrics are problematic or not.

For example the lyrics, “You'll catch me” from “As if It Was Yours Last” and, “Cold snow cone, get it free like Willy/In jeans like Billie, you be poppin' like wheelie/Brr, brr, frozen, you're the one chosen /Play parts like Moses, stay fresh as roses” from “Ice Cream” ranked fourth and tenth on Reddit's poll of the worst lyrics in K-Pop, respectively.

The term “pick me” girl has been appearing more frequently in K-Pop these days, being used as a derogatory term to describe, “A woman who claims or acts as if she is not like most other women, in order to get attention from men. " And some netizens think that the lyrics and vibe of “Typa Girl” reflects the aesthetic of the “pick me” girl.

Some of the lyrics to the song include, "I bring money to the table/Not your dinner/My body and my bank account/A good figure/Thinking of me, but nothing to consider/If I let you in my circle, You're a winner” and, “I'm not at all like other girls/I'm the type of girl who makes you forget that you have a type/Type that makes you love me when all you do is like”.
