 First time RM enter the entertainment world was when he auditioned for Big Deal Record in 2009. Although he failed in the second round, RM had exchanged contacts with rapper Sleepy.

In 2010, RM was pushed to audition for Big Hit CEO Bang Si Hyuk and was offered a record label. After that Bdang and Pdogg produced a group called BTS and RM joined Big Hit Entertainment at the age of 16.
A trainee for three years, RM was introduced to Suga and J-Hope. Not only performers, RM also wrote songs for girl group Glam.

On June 13, 2013, RM and other BTS members officially debuted with songs that RM wrote on all BTS albums. He even has his own solo songs including RM and Mono.

He has also appeared on television shows such as After School Club, Problematic Men, Star King, Hello Counselor, as a guest, Running Man and many more.

RM also been a host on music shows Inkigayo and M Countdown. As well as filling in the OST for the Fantastic Four movie for Korea and the OST for the BTS WORLD movie.
In fact, RM was also named Best Male Solo at the 2019 Soompi Awards.

Born in Seoul (Sangdo-dong) then he moved to Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea when he was 4 years old.
Before debut RM was a neat and quiet student.
In 2006 RM studied the language in New Zealand for 4 months.
